Machine Learning Engineer

We are looking for Machine Learning Engineers with a strong algorithmic foundation and solid model training experience.
You will be responsible for designing, training, and optimizing core models that power the AI systems behind KokoroLab.
This role is ideal for engineers who pursue technical excellence, enjoy solving complex ML problems, and want to bring cutting-edge research into real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, implement, and optimize machine learning and deep learning models;
- Design and execute training, fine-tuning, and evaluation workflows for large-scale models;
- Explore and improve upon Transformer, Diffusion, and Vision-Language architectures;
- Build efficient data processing and training pipelines to support continuous iteration;
- Track and experiment with state-of-the-art research and open-source frameworks;
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate models into production environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or related fields;
- Strong theoretical foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and probability/statistics;
- Proficient in Python and major ML frameworks (PyTorch / TensorFlow);
- Hands-on experience in training, fine-tuning, and optimizing models;
- Familiar with mainstream architectures (CNNs, Transformers, Diffusion models, etc.);
- Knowledge of model deployment and inference optimization (ONNX / TensorRT / distributed training);
- Strong engineering mindset, clean coding habits, and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale model training or multi-modal (vision-language) learning;
- Familiar with distributed or mixed-precision training, LoRA/SFT fine-tuning, or model compression/distillation;
- Knowledge of cloud-based training and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP);
- Prior experience contributing to open-source projects, AI competitions (e.g., Kaggle), or academic publications.
Frontend Engineer
Location: RemoteTeam: KokoroLabWe’re looking for a Frontend Engineer who combines solid engineering skills with a strong sense of design and user experience.
You’ll take ownership of the architecture, development, and optimization of KokoroLab’s web interfaces, working closely with designers and backend engineers to deliver elegant and performant products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain core frontend architecture and components;
- Collaborate with designers, backend and ML engineers to deliver seamless user experiences;
- Optimize UI performance across browsers and devices;
- Build and maintain a modular, scalable component system;
- Continuously explore new frontend technologies and propose improvements.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in HTML5 / CSS3 / JavaScript (ES6+);
- Deep experience with React / Vue / Next.js (React preferred);
- Familiarity with TypeScript and modern state management (Redux, Recoil, Zustand);
- Experience with API integration and visualization (GraphQL / REST / Chart.js / D3.js);
- Understanding of build tools and CI/CD pipelines (Webpack, Vite, GitHub Actions);
- Strong attention to UI/UX quality and performance optimization;
- Collaborative mindset and self-driven working style.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI-based platforms / creator tools / anime visual products;
- Knowledge of Canvas, WebGL, or Three.js for dynamic graphics rendering;
- Familiar with SSR and frontend performance tuning;
- Bonus: full-stack experience (Node.js / Express / GraphQL);
- Aesthetic sensitivity and passion for crafting interactive, design-rich experiences.
Backend Engineer
Location: RemoteTeam: KokoroLabWe’re seeking talented Backend Engineers with strong engineering and system design skills to join our core team.
You will be responsible for architecting, building, and optimizing backend systems, ensuring KokoroLab’s AI services are scalable, secure, and performant.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend architectures;
- Build and maintain robust API services (REST / GraphQL);
- Implement efficient business logic, database schema, and caching layers;
- Optimize database queries and backend performance;
- Collaborate closely with frontend and ML teams to deliver stable system integrations;
- Ensure backend systems meet standards of security, scalability, and reliability;
- Contribute to DevOps, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields;
- Strong proficiency in Node.js / Python / Go (at least one required);
- Experience in RESTful and/or GraphQL API development;
- Familiar with databases and caching systems (MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, PostgreSQL);
- Understanding of containerization and cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP);
- Good awareness of system architecture, scalability, and security principles;
- Strong ownership and clean, maintainable coding practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-concurrency or distributed systems;
- Familiarity with microservices and message queues (Kafka / RabbitMQ);
- Background in AI inference service deployment or model serving;
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD workflows;
- Contributions to open-source projects or public engineering portfolios.
UI Designer
Location: RemoteTeam: KokoroLabWe’re looking for a UI Designer with strong visual aesthetics, interaction thinking, and system design capability.
You’ll be responsible for defining the visual language, interface system, and user experience of KokoroLab, collaborating closely with product and frontend teams to craft elegant, human-centered design experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality user interfaces for web and multi-platform products;
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to turn complex ideas into simple, intuitive experiences;
- Build and maintain a consistent Design System and visual language;
- Explore AI-driven interaction patterns and creative workflows;
- Participate in concept ideation, prototyping, and user experience iteration;
- Keep track of design trends and new tools to continuously refine our product experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Visual Design, Interaction Design, Digital Media, or related fields;
- Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent tools;
- Strong understanding of design systems, hierarchy, layout, and composition;
- Solid sense of UX flow and interaction logic;
- Excellent eye for detail, typography, and color;
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions;
- A portfolio showcasing design skills and creative process is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in motion design, illustration, 3D, or branding;
- Familiarity with frontend workflows or design handoff processes;
- Experience in AI products, creator tools, or digital art platforms;
- Understanding of user research and prototyping methods;
